They’ll never believe me never believe me never believe me--
My feet pound the rhythm, the words fill my head. I hardly believe myself. I saw it with my own eyes. It makes no sense. It makes so much sense. Hillshire doesn’t get earthquakes, thunder doesn’t sound out of a cloudless sky, sheep don’t go missing for no reason…
A shadow covers me. I realize too late.
It saw--

Thursday night, Hillshire trembles. People panic, then calm, then sweep up broken crockery and complain, comment on the oddity, and let it pass.
Sheep disappear overnight. Shepherds look for new crevasses - perhaps the earth opened. They find a broken carcass - one of Johnson’s, see the ear tag - and start to search for wolves or mad dogs instead.
A shepherd disappears next.
They don’t search the sky.

You are ancient, ageless, awakening after the longest, deepest sleep. The earth has swallowed you whole. You carve your way out, tunnel to freedom, tear apart boulders and trees; a new hatching into a new world. The stars seem different. The air has changed. There are new lights at the foot of the hills - brighter and steadier than the fires you saw before you slept.
You are hungry.

Curtain
The rich old man was going to die. Somehow, he knew. It was as if the silk curtains floating in from the summer breeze had whispered this secret into his ear, a billowing angel. Sunlight streamed into the room, lighting the dusty interior with golden rays, but the old man's vision was failing, and he could only see the blurriest of shapes.
“Please,...” he whispered. “Please, someone...”
A figure slipped into the room.
“Oh, good. Good. Please, come sit with me.”
The figure came and sat, guiding a chair to the bedside with precise movements.
“Listen to me, please. I think I'm going to die ver

No Definition Needed
I read a book that reminded me of you,
of all the complicated words you used to use,
how definitions fled your mind but synonyms were so profuse.
I read a thesaurus and every word was you.

Flash Fiction Month, Day 11 - caught up, and challenge day!
Firstly: Your story must be a MYSTERY, of some kind.
Secondly: Your story must be a 369'er - In other words, three separate, but interrelated, stories of exactly 69 words each.
Lastly: You must write your challenge using three different Narrative POV’s or "Points of View" - specifically, First Person, Second Person, and Third Person. That means even if you're writing everything from the perspective of the same character, you'll still need to use a different POV in each 69 word story, though the order in which you use them is up to you.
