Personal project which manages to combine more cultures than you'd think just looking at it. The knotwork is mostly celtic, and combines a tree knot with a triangular knot which is either celtic or nordic. The bind rune is my own, combined from the nordic runes Ansuz (and its reverse) and Ihwaz. And the whole thing was done on pale blue parchment paper with sumi-e brush and ink, something I'm rubbish at using really. This only came out so well because I cheated and used pencil first, then traced the lines with the ink. They still came out wonky more oft than not, but at least the weaving pattern more or less holds true.
Very elegant and beautiful! My mind is going into a loop just trying to follow those lines...
I simultaneously love and hate these sorts of knots. Love the look of them, hate trying to replicate them. Love the result, hate the process.
I love this so much it's just gah how can you do it
With references. And much referring to the references. And penciled guidelines.
How do you do it so cleanlyyyyyyyyyyy it's insane
That is not cleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaan you're insane
