I've been hooked by Homestuck.
It started with the fanart. Over time, I started noticing more and more of it on DA - trolls with grey skin and zodiac-themed shirts, humans in nifty hooded outfits, etc.
A few days ago I finally decided to check it out myself, despite having some misgivings about language (some of the fan-made short comics I ventured into featured a great deal of casual swearing).
Initial thoughts: "Hahaha, okay, a little weird, and some of the characters and situations are a little off, but nothing I can't handle. Gintama's so much worse..."
Then it hooked me. In spite of the bad language and such, it hooked me. I can skim the stronger words in favor of the story beyond.
((Time travel. I love time travel...particularly when the theories of time involved approach my own thoughts and theories on the subject, making a great deal of logical personal sense to me. ))
But enough rambling.
This here's Karkat...or it's supposed to be. I've no doubt I messed up, as usual, on my rendering. I know I failed pose-wise; it was supposed to be a slightly crab-like crouch, to match the zodiac sign he embodies (cancer), but it just looks sorta awkward instead.
Karkat may well be my favorite troll, though I've got a soft spot for Vriska as well, and Tavros was too adorable (RIP - TT.TT)...
This is in spite of the fact that he's fully capable of swearing the air blue, or at least of making a very valiant attempt at it. I just love many of his reactions to things. Too funny.
And his ancestor's something else as well. I'd do some Signless art if I didn't think that every single theme I could attempt hadn't already been done much better than I could ever hope to manage.
But enough of that. I'll just add this to the bottom of the pile of Karkat fanart now.
