My first Introductory page for my Book of Stories OCT Audition.
For those who don't know what's going on, I'll explain briefly. The Book of Stories is a book which contains every story ever written or told. Its two caretakers, Lady Ink (rigid form and structure, patterns) and Mud (loose creativity, emotion) have a falling-out which causes Mud to leave. Lady Ink cannot keep the Book up herself and so, in frustration, writes in the book that all the stories have already been told, and there are no more. Caught in this condundrum, the Book begins to unravel in a sense, condensing every single story into one archetypal one in an effort to meet this new clause. Mud comes back to help meet this catastrophe, but neither he nor Lady Ink can enter the book itself without harm, so champions are sought. They can be chosen by Mud, Lady Ink, or at random by pages of the book itself.
For my part: I'm entering one of my favorite OCs, Jaya Ferrox, and she is an agent of chance - the book chooses her, in other words.
Also, the concept of the Book of Stories works beautifully with my concept of the Otherpaths, something integral to the worlds Jaya comes from. The Book contains every story ever told or written. The Otherpaths contain every world in every universe known and unknown to each other - including all the words which stories may come from. I like to think that the Book is the Soul of Everything and the Otherpaths is the Body. They aren't the same, but so integrally interconnected that this is the only thing I can think of to liken it to.
How could I pass something like this up?
More later. Right now I'm working on the Waffledorp Meme...for the fun of it.

Thank you! It'll probably be the only really cool page in my entire Intro - my plans for the others are relatively straightforward. I just couldn't resist trying the gradient thing for this bit.

can't wait to see the rest~
Goodness only knows how much longer it'll be, though. I'll be writing for the most part of it, so that'll save me a bit of time and space at least.
