Description

51 minutes, Photoshop CS3

Long-overdue continuation of my one-hour monochrome wings set, others of which are as follows:

Black. Technically not a color, but instead an absence of light, I'm including it anyway. In the west it's symbolic of absolute death, of an ending and mourning, though it's also seen as mysterious and attractive. In other cultures it can stand for wisdom and maturity (think of a black belt being the highest rank attainable in most martial arts systems). It is the dark to light and the night to day. A polished piece of black stone or metal is highly reflective and can even be used as a mirror, symbolizing truth or knowledge as it can be used in scrying. In a way, black can either obscure or reveal - hence, here, the hood, robe, and mask (obscuring) and the mirror and book (revelation).
